R. Wilmer Carter was the second eldest son of Lindon Buz Carter, b. 1874-1936 and Sallie Ann Boyd Carter, b. 1879-1968; Wilmer was the grandson of Washington William Carter, b. 1810-BEF 1900 and Elizabeth "Betsy/Bettie" Mills Snow Carter, b. 1830-1926; and great grandson of Edy Carter, b. 1768-BTN 1830/40.
